Style Name Format
In the ideal scenario for a POP import, each style on a Vendor Doc will have a unique combination of Style Name + Color and Vendor SKU + Color.
If multiple styles with the same color share the same SKU or Style Name, they may be grouped together incorrectly in POP. This will lead to an incorrect or inconsistent customer experience on the product pages, as well as faulty data within our systems.
In all cases, POP will require a unique identifier to understand where one style ends and another begins. This article will address applying these unique identifiers to ensure accurate and complete imports via POP.
Unique identifier examples are a color name or a number, anything that would help in separating the styles within our system. Typically we suggest adding these as a suffix to the Vendor Style Name.
Best Practices:
- If a style shares a common SKU across multiple colorways, please ensure that a unique identifier is added to the style name. In the example below, we have added the Vendor Product Color value to the end of the Vendor Style Name. The Vendor Product Color column must also be filled out.
- If multiple styles share the same Style Name and color, please ensure that a unique identifier is added to the style name. In the example below, we have added the Vendor Product Color value and a numeric value to differentiate between "Black" and "Black 2". The Vendor Product Color column must also be filled out.
- If a style comes in a range of sizes, do not include size in the style name. This will lead to each size becoming its own style, resulting in a customer experience where sizes of the same style are separated within the site. Vendor Size should only be included in the Vendor Size column and not as a suffix to the Vendor Style Name.
- If the Vendor SKU is unique for each size, do not include size in the Style Name. The Vendor Size column must be filled out. This will lead to each size becoming its own style, resulting in a customer experience where sizes of the same style are separated within the site. Vendor Size should only be included in the Vendor Size column and not as a suffix to the Vendor Style Name.
Example:
Vendor SKU: 123ABC
Style Name: Cotton V-Neck T-Shirt
Which comes in colors Red, Blue, and Green
Correct Format:
Vendor SKU: 123ABC
Style Name: Cotton V-Neck T-Shirt -1
Color: Red
Vendor SKU: 123ABC
Style Name: Cotton V-Neck T-Shirt-2
Color: Blue
Vendor SKU: 123ABC
Style Name: Cotton V-Neck T-Shirt-3
Color: Green
